About Waling Waling Eco-Village Calaguas
City-dwellers looking for a change of pace: Life in the metro can get a little stressful. Waling-Waling Eco Village might not offer the same experience as a five-star hotel, but it offers something else entirely – peace, relaxation, and the opportunity to fully commune with nature. Don’t expect modern amenities or wireless internet here: this is for people who want to unplug – completely.
Families with children: Waling-Waling Eco Village is the perfect spot for a family vacation and spending time bonding with your kids. Go on a complete screen detox – no television, computers, smartphones or tablets – and go on adventures instead, frolicking at the beach and playing in the long stretch of sand that fronts the property.
Backpackers: Those looking to kick back away from the hustle and bustle of city life will truly appreciate the calm and relaxing atmosphere this place offers. You can unwind and enjoy a stress-free vacation as you take in the scene of this natural paradise.
Beachfront: Waling-Waling Eco Village is located conveniently right on the beachfront, which means that “vitamin sea” is only a few short steps away at all times. It’s also ideal for a romantic walk along the water at sunset.
Dining: Freshly caught seafood is cooked home-style by the staff every day for your dining pleasure. You may also bring in your own food or ingredients and simply ask the kitchen to prepare them for you.
Open air cabanas: There’s no air-conditioning at this resort – instead, you’ll be cooled by gentle ocean breezes that bring in that distinct tropical scent instead.
Lounge/living room: An open air lounge is available for groups of friends to hang out and have a few drinks. It’s outfitted with locally-sourced bamboo furniture to keep you cool while retaining a pleasing aesthetic.
Boat transfers: Calaguas is an island, and the only way to get there is via Waling-Waling’s own boat. It’s one of the larger vessels available that’s designed specifically to ferry visitors to and fro, equipped with all the necessary safety gear, radio equipment, and personnel.
Surfing at Bagasbas Beach: Surfers are bound to enjoy the waves available at Bagasbas Beach – it’s known as one of the top surfing destinations in the Philippines. Fine gray powdery sand opens up to some truly spectacular waves, which makes it an ideal beginners’ choice but will also be satisfying for pro-level surfers. Surfing here is best experienced between the months of July and November. Surfboard rental and instruction is available nearby in the park across the beach.
Mt. Cadig Cave: If you’ve never tried spelunking before, you’re in for a treat at Cadig Cave, located in the town of nearby Labo. It’s a moderate difficulty cave suitable for even beginners looking for a thrilling trek and indulging their inner explorer.
Nuestra Señora de Candelaria Church: Located in Paracale, this church was founded in 1581 by Franciscan missionaries. It’s the best representation of Bicol’s 400-year old religious heritage.
