Milky Way

Milky Way began as an ice cream and soda parlor, serving up cold treats craving customers. When the Araullo sisters took over, this simple sweets shop evolved into so much more.

Bringing in their home-cooked recipes for local favorites and humble turo-turo style service – they take us back to the basics on what we love most about eating Pinoy.

Milky Way still gets oohs and aahs from diners, and not just for the halo-halo

Proving that it can withstand the test of time, Milky Way, decades after its rebirth as a restaurant, still gets oohs and aahs from diners, and not just for the halo-halo. Revered lifestyle writer Teddy Montelibano just a few months ago posted this rave on his Facebook wall: ”… the lechon kawali FROM lechon de leche is THE end! [M]y search for THE BEST lechon kawali in [M]anila ended when I tried MW’s!”

Milkway's version of Kare-kare is a mix of US ox tail, pata and goto. The peanut sauce has the perfect thickness and the meat was quite flavorful. I fell in love with this dish hard, a definite must-try! One of the bestselling dishes is the Crispy Hito, served with tomato cucumber salad. Our group got so excited that we were able to finish the whole fish quickly. The salad shouldn't be ignored when eating this lovely dish.

A staple Filipino favourite, Milky Way’s Sotanghon brims with a lot of fresh ingredients that can serve as an alternative for (or paired with!) plain rice!
