About Pasig

Pasig is one of those places where you’re not sure what to find but with a bit of help you’ll be surprised to find a wealth of hotspots and new, interesting places to discover (some for a steal too!).

As the other half of Mandaluyong, Pasig maintains its role as a center of trade and commerce, but recent developments have turned it into a highly urbanized city of its own. With new food establishments, real estate expansions and even its own rainforest park – all the new things Pasig has to offer will pleasantly surprise visitors.

Culture buffs should head to the Pasig City Museum. The best part? The entrance is absolutely free. Housed in a Spanish-style Baroque mansion, you get an organized glimpse of the city’s historical development. If you’re feeling hungry before or after, head to Panaderia Dimas-alang - it’s 95 years-old but has lost none of its charm or flavor. Sink your teeth into favorite such as egg pie and biscuits sprinkled with sugar – but their specialty will always be the classic pandesal.

More historical landmarks can be found within the area – namely the Immaculate Conception Cathedral which remains one of the oldest establishments in Pasig and is the first Marian Parish in Metro Manila. Another is the Bahay na Tisa – the oldest stone house in Pasig which was used as a venue for meetings during the Martial Law period. All that’s left of the Beaterio de Pasig is a reconstructed façade, but it’s worth passing by for an Instagram-worthy snap.

The newest and most exciting addition tis Capital Commons – a slowly growing community of hipster hangouts and eateries that attract the after-hours crowd with comfort food and craft beers. The newly-built Estancia Mall hasn’t yet been fully populated but with spacious quarters and four full floors to explore, we bet it’ll be giving malls in the area a run for their money.
