About Parañaque
Parañaque has been dubbed The Fashion Capital of the Philippines as well as The City of Lights. Though flanked by the flashier Fort Bonifacio on one side and the popular hangout in the South Alabang, Parañaque has itself become a must-visit for those living in the city, despite being quite a drive from the center of the metro.
As an entertainment hub, it excites. Solaire Resort and Casino is an impressive complex which includes five-star accommodations like 800 guest rooms, suites and villas. The latest venture to join Solaire? The much-awaited City of Dreams whose commercials starred part owners Robert de Niro and Leonardo di Caprio. Guests of the City of Dreams also get to dine at one of the world’s most lauded Japanese chef’s, Chef Nobu’s, restaurant.
It’s not all gambling and fun at Parañaque, with a rather sizeable Elorde Sports Center and the Olivarez Coliseum in town to provide fitness inspiration for residents. They’ve also got a Speedworld Motorcross Park for adrenaline junkies.
As far as food goes, they’ve got it down pat with Fresh Foods Market and Ihaw-Ihaw Restaurants (DAMPA) ideal for those who want something fast, fresh and simple. Connoisseurs drive all the way here just to visit Aguirre Street – a mecca for foodies with rows of restaurants such as the famous Sensei Sushi being raved about by those who have eaten there.
Food and fun you can only find at Parañaque makes it well worth the trip. Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it.
