About Negros Island

Negros is known for its unspoilt beaches, gorgeous natural coral gardens and rugged mountains, but also for a vibrant city life you can find in Dumaguete. Dumaguete is famous for its writing workshop which has given birth to some of the country’s best talents – but apart from that it’s also known as more upbeat and urban than a regular provincial town.

Dumaguete’s harbourfront, Rizal Boulevard, teems with upmarket bars, food stalls and restaurants and as a college town that’s also filled with expats, you’re sure the nightlife here is bound to be booming. For culture, there’s the Sidlakang Negros Village which serves as an expo for local products and crafts.

Bacolod is not just for chicken – this busy town is home to cultural wonders such as the Dizon Ramos and Negros Museum where you can see a curated collection of displays of both local industry products and historical artifacts – such as the fake cannons used to scare the Spanish. The cuisine here is said to be more sophisticated as well.

For a foray into nature you can head to Valencia. This verdant town rests at the foot of Mount Talinis with four unique trails to the summit. Just 2 kilometers west of Valencia are Forest Camp and Tejero Highland Resort and Adventure Park – two ecoparks that make an excellent day trip experience for families.

Forest Camp is a maze of streams, ziplines and natural pools integrated into one all-around-fun park for water lovers. Those who want out of water action will find it in Tejero’s ATVs, segways, ziplines and more. End your day with a refreshing dip at Casaroro Falls boasting 30 meters of cascading crystal clear waters.
