About Ilocos

This region is divided into two parts: Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur – each boasting its own beauty worth exploring. Like most tourist hotspots in the Philippines, Ilocos has noteworthy beaches such as those in Santagim Cabangtalan and San Estaban. But what it’s really known for are scenic landmarks steeped in history.

One such is Tirad Pass, declared a National Shrine, this was the last stand of the Filipino Revolutionary Forces under General Emilio Aguinaldo. Handsome churches such as Santa Maria Church and Candon Church, famous for its looming bell tower and the longest painting in the Philippines, are picturesque places worth a gander.

But the true center of history here is Vigan – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it awes you with cobblestone streets and colonial European architecture that remains beautifully intact ‘til today.

Taste local specialties such as Bagnet, Longganisa and Vigan empanada and pay a visit to some of the attractions in the area such as the Crisologo Museum, Syquia Mansion, Bantay Church and Belltower, plus the all-around fun Buluarte Mini Zoo.

Share in a unique experience and immerse yourself in rich culture, riveting local history –with a side of beautiful beaches to boot. You’ll be planning your trip back before you know it.
