Why This Tagaytay Hotel is Redefining Family Staycations

by Gretchen Filart

With the holidays approaching, planning a family vacation becomes an even more pressing matter. Luckily, we've found the Tagaytay getaway for you and your family: Hotel Kimberly!

Tucked in the heart of Tagaytay is this four-story hotel that's perfect for a family road trip vacation. It boasts a bevy of kid-friendly offerings that you and your children will have a hard time saying goodbye to. (We know we did!)

Here's a quick peek at what Hotel Kimberly has in store for you.

One of the best things about Hotel Kimberly is its location. An easy 90-minute drive from Manila, it affords families convenient access to Tagaytay's cool countryside breeze.

Although Hotel Kimberly is located in a quiet community off the city center, tourist attractions like Picnic Grove and Sky Ranch are only a few minutes away. Not up for a drive? Ask the concierge for a ride to nearby destinations. Complimentary shuttle rides are available daily!

Hotel Kimberly guarantees capacious, contemporary rooms that are well-suited for family staycations. All 50 airconditioned, non-smoking rooms are furnished with soft and sizable mattresses, an en-suite bathroom, a 29-inch LCD TV with cable and DVD player, WiFi, and a minibar that's stocked with snacks the kids will love. Some rooms have a bathtub, but this can be requested upon reservation.

Experience a family vacation here with a Spacious Premiere Family Room Stay for 4 with Breakfast at an exclusive price!

Young families can get the Deluxe Room with Breakfast, where up to 2 kids (11 years old and below) can stay for free!

Some rooms also have their own balconies—perfect for enjoying the breezy air!

In line with being a family-friendly stay, take note that quiet time in the room areas is 10PM-8AM.

Facilities and Activities

Hotel Kimberly prides itself on facilities and activities that are absolutely perfect for kids. Two pools rest from the garden across Cafe@K: a wading pool for the little ones and a deeper lap pool for bigger ones.

Only a handful of hotels in Tagaytay offer heated pools, and Hotel Kimberly is one of those. If your kid is water-crazy like mine, this is a thoughtful addition that ensures the water never gets too cold. However, it is only turned on when needed (definitely not during the summer!).

One of their latest additions is the Aquatic Playground that's complete with all sorts of slides. Look out for the large dumping bucket and interactive fountain sprays that are sure to be a hit with the kids!

A short distance from the pool is an outdoor playground furnished with slides and tire swings.

Adjacent to the lobby is a spacious game room for indoor play. Foosball, table tennis, basketball, and air hockey can be enjoyed here.

A big part of the two-hectare property is dedicated to a farm, where children can feed and pet farm animals such as sheep, bunnies, and chickens.

For a nominal fee, children can also go horseback riding too!

Expert farmers also conduct lessons on sustainable farming. Aterwards, guests can plant and harvest homegrown herbs.

During the weekends, their outdoor pavilion is home to movie nights with free popcorn. Huddle around the bonfire (TIP: Marshmallows for roasting are given for free!) or let your little ones join the parlor games that the hotel occasionally organizes.

Stays at Hotel Kimberly come with a delectable breakfast buffet–a good mix of Western and Filipino dishes, all whipped up from a team led by Masterchef Philippines Season 1 Grand Winner Chef JR Royol. Load up on pancakes, pasta, bread, salads, desserts, and a diverse selection of meats from fried tawilis to cold cuts. The cafe serves ala-carte dishes all day too!

Enjoy an exquisite 5-Course Lunch or Dinner at an exclusive price!

More than its array of amenities, the best part of a Hotel Kimberly stay is the warm hospitality. The staff are helpful, courteous, and friendly without being intrusive. Like all kids, mine got a nice treat of milk and cookies delivered to our room prior to bedtime.

At Hotel Kimberly, there's really no such thing boring days for the kids. Don't be the last to experience a cozy staycation here! As someone who has spent the weekend here, I can vouch that it's one stay that you and your kids would want to come back and stay even longer.
