Outside Metro Manila

This Hotel is a Testament to World-Class Filipino Hospitality

by Anna Duque

Hotel staycations are one of my non-negotiables.

They are, after all, a much-needed respite from the chaotic hustle and bustle of everyday life. So when my friend gave me the perfect excuse to take a break—even if it just meant heading south of Manila—we booked an overnight stay at Acacia Hotel right away.

It was definitely luxe at first sight. Upon entering the lobby, I immediately understood why the acacia tree, with its stately beauty, is the hotel’s namesake. The color palette's earth tones perfectly matched the elegant and modern décor, and the different works of art complemented the lighting, wall textures, and patterns. Effortlessly fusing style and sophistication, the hotel's aesthetic was truly a feast for the eyes.

With its prime location in Alabang, Acacia Hotel is right smack in the middle of malls, restaurants, and supermarkets. And because it places a premium on excellent service, it's the perfect staycation venue for relaxation and enjoying quality time with family and friends. The hotel also offers access to a wide array of activities and seasonal events, both within its premises and in the vicinity.

Checking in was a breeze; in less than ten minutes, we were ushered into our Junior Suite. An airy corner suite with a comfortable, inviting orthopedic bed and an impressive floor to ceiling glass window that provides a stunning view of the South side of the metro, the room we booked definitely exceeded expectations.

The warm earth tones gave the room a more subdued feel that was equal parts relaxing and appealing. The sizeable bathroom was a pleasant surprise, and the room amenities were so well maintained, you wouldn't be able to tell that the hotel has been around for several years already.

Acacia Hotel’s various facilities didn’t disappoint, either. The gym (it's conveniently open 24 hours a day!) had enough equipment so that guests could be more productive and didn't have to wait long for their turn. The equipment was modern and state-of-the-art, and easy to navigate even if for beginners. The swimming pool and the hot tub were perfect for taking a refreshing dip while enjoying the Alabang skyline on a sunny afternoon—definitely one of the best ways to unwind and let your worries float away, even for just a weekend.

And if it's a day of indulgent pampering on the agenda, Acacia Hotel has Lurra, its own wellness spa. It's open from 1 PM to 12 MN, and has the most soothing massage treatments on the menu—their signature scrubs, the Coffee and Sea Salt Body scrubs, promise to give your skin a natural, healthy glow.

Sink into pure bliss when you buy their exclusives for a 90-Minute Aromatherapy Massage for 1 and a 120-Minute Luxuriate Massage for 2.

Now for the best part of any staycation: the dining options! Acacia Hotel is popular for its restaurant, A Steakhouse because of the wide range of USDA prime beef served at reasonable prices. The buffet at Acaci restaurant is just as amazing, offering various international fare that satisfied my every craving. There were so many dishes to try—all of them absolutely delicious—that we almost couldn't decide which one to dig into first! We made sure to take our time savoring each bite while enjoying the good conversation and great company.

But if there was one thing that really made Acacia Hotel a five-star establishment in my book, it would be the superb customer service and Filipino hospitality it extends to its guests. Unknown to many, Acacia Hotel is one of the very few hotel brands that is proudly Filipino in every sense, and this is perhaps why the warmth and sincerity of the staff is evident in every single thing they do. Their genuine passion and purposeful service truly set them apart from other hotel experiences in the metro.

It was a weekend that gave me a much-needed break and more—and even as I ease myself back into the daily grind, I know I'm already planning my next visit.
