Astoria Plaza is a Pocket of Tranquility at the Heart of the City

There are more than a handful of hotels and establishments situated within the bustling Ortigas business district.

But amidst the medley of noise and activity emanating from the busy streets, Astoria Plaza offers a place of serenity and refuge right at the heart of the city.

Located along J. Escriva Drive, Astoria Plaza strives to be whatever the guest needs it to be. Whether it be respite for a few nights away from work, a traveler’s starting point to tour the city, a rich culinary experience, or even the setting for your next event, the hotel has it all covered.

Shoes Off, Hotel Slippers On

For the weary patron looking for a weekend getaway, the centrally located accommodation is a worthy sanctuary. The hotel affords you every comfort of home, but with an opulently urban upgrade. The elegant interiors and spacious rooms resonate with various personalities and lifestyles, and provide the perfect backdrop for the relaxing escape you’ve been yearning for.

Astoria Plaza has over a hundred one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites that are fully equipped with an electronic door lock, LED televisions, electronic safe, complete bathroom amenities, and even a personal kitchenette. The rooms exude a sense of repose that can definitely help alleviate the stress of the daily grind. They provide complimentary wifi as well, so you can stay connected during your visit.

Want to be pampered even more? Head to the Fifth Season Spa for a rejuvenating massage in one of the individual treatment rooms to maximize the benefits of your city staycation. Feel your worries melt away as you unwind in the calming setting. Taking a dip in the pool after a few reps at the fully-equipped fitness center is another excellent way to recharge; sweating it out for that endorphin rush is always a good idea!

Happy Trails for Any Travel

For out-of-town visitors, the hotel is also ideal to serve as any tourist or traveler’s headquarters. Astoria Plaza is situated at the center of a densely-populated business district, with prominent malls and commercial hubs only a few blocks away. They can also arrange for airport pickup services for booked guests. One thoughtful feature of the hotel that guests often rave about is their complimentary shuttle service to nearby malls—guests can be dropped off at or picked up from the shopping centers and retail establishments within the vicinity upon request, free of charge.

Tales of the Tummy

If it’s gastronomic delights you’re after, Astoria does not disappoint. The morning buffet at Cafe Astoria is up to the standard of any breakfast lover, with their hearty selection of warm, freshly baked breads and pastries (must-try: the soft, fluffy bibingka!) being particularly hard to resist.

However, the clear culinary gem of Astoria Plaza is undoubtedly its Japanese restaurant, Minami Saki. The sakura-themed interiors and intimate setting allow for a sensuous and flavorful dining experience that will become an instant favorite.

The man behind the apron is none other than Chef Kimito Katagiri, also the mastermind of Manila’s top-rated Japanese hotel restaurants such as Inagiku, Ginza, and Yanagi. Chef Katagiri’s over 30 years of experience in the Philippines has equipped him to find the sweet spot in creating traditional Japanese dishes that cater specifically to the Filipino palate.

Among the many lauded entrées of Minami Saki, they’re best known for their impeccable aburi sushi—a crowd favorite for a reason. The plate features five different kinds of seared fresh seafood, a handpicked selection of hamachi, salmon, tuna, eel, and lapu-lapu, each topped with the chef’s own secret aburi sauce.

Business or Pleasure? Why Not Both!

The hotel is also equipped to host any business conference or private event. Astoria Plaza boasts nine function rooms that can accomodate events of different size, as well as two boardrooms for your company’s next out-of-office executive meeting. The largest room, the Manhattan at almost 300 square meters, can fit up to 250 guests.

Whatever kind of hotel experience you seek, Astoria Plaza makes sure you find what you are looking for. But what makes any encounter with them truly special and worthwhile is the fact that their rates remain more than reasonable. The services and amenities, together with the hotel’s understated elegance and cozy ambience for a great price, all come together to make sure each and every guest that walks through their doors is a happy, satisfied one.
