Café de Lipa Origins
Kapeng Barako is a must when in Batangas—and what better place to get it than from the café owned by the family known to first plant coffee seedlings in the country? Café de Lipa’s claim to fame is their classic brew, the Barako Joe, but they also offer other caffeine favorites for those who prefer something a little less strong. Their coffees are best paired with pastries like their tableya revel bar and moist barako bar. Take a bag or two of their coffee beans home; you’ll thank yourself for it when you get back to the daily grind!

What makes this homey dining place so special is not only that the dishes are made fresh daily by Joel himself, but also that they’re all infused with honey straight from his bee farm. Lomi King
Whether you know it or not, Batangueños loooove their noodles—and their all-time favorite is the lomi, an egg noodle dish drowned in super thick soup, topped with meat and veggies. Arguably the most popular lomi place in Lipa is the no non-sense noodle house, Lomi King. Its too-good-to-believe price point is only the beginning of what makes it so great; their lomi servings are extremely generous, they don’t scrimp on toppings, and they’ve perfected the balance of a complex, flavorful recipe and a simple, comforting eggy taste. Of course, there are other noodle dishes, too, for non-lomi lovers, but would you really want to pass up on what might just be the city’s most famous dish?
