Pasig is known for being one of the country’s biggest business districts, but this doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have enough places for its hardworking citizens and visitors to wine, maybe dine, and have a grand time! Home to the foodie paradise of Kapitolyo and the true midpoint of the metro, the city is the perfect place for friends to get together for rounds of drinks.

Whether you’re ringing in the weekend, unwinding before facing the maddening after-work traffic, or are simply up for a reunion with friends, Pasig holds several happy hour hotspots you'll want to make your way to, whatever and whenever you fancy. After all, it is always happy hour somewhere in the world…

Three Little Pigs

INSTAGRAM: christineeatseverywhere

Discover a whole new meaning to the childhood favorite bedtime story. Located above Sisig Society in Kapitolyo, speakeasy Three Little Pigs hides behind a white brick wall that leads you to a staircase teeming with artworks of pigs. Once you reach the top, you’re welcomed into a classy yet homey bar that’s perfect for intimate gatherings. While you sip on a refreshingly fruity Gin Basil Smash, don’t forget to admire the pig illustrations around you—they make for interesting conversations!

The Black Boar

Local movie lovers will recognize Kapitolyo’s The Black Boar from the 2017 Filipino romcom I’m Drunk, I Love You. Named after Maja Salvador’s character’s favorite dish, Carson’s Bagnet is a must-try for foodies who love golden fried goodness. Pair it with their signature Chocolate Beer that comes in premium and dark varieties and you’re in for one of your best nights out! But be careful—one too many drinks might actually have you saying, “I’m drunk, I love you” for real.

Long live OPM! Once located in Century City Mall, Makati, this El Pueblo music hall is now a staple in the local music scene, because there’s nothing quite like being in a crowd of music lovers, while watching your favorite local bands' intimate performances. Go for a full-on Pinoy gig experience as you down buckets of ice-cold beer and feast on barbecued street food. Loud singing and head banging are optional.

Excite your taste buds with a Michelada, a spicy beer cocktail, and their taco sampler, Tres Amigos—it’s an experience you’ll taco ‘bout again and again.

Hiding behind a soda machine in Tittos is Kapitolyo’s not-so-secret hideaway, RM 16. Punch in the secret code and let this speakeasy’s chill and intimate vibe welcome you right in. Dimly lit, yet totally Instagrammable, it’s the perfect place for good music and even greater conversations with your buddies, date, or even newfound friends. Speaking of conversations, have a chat with the bartenders, tell them what you feel—if you’re feeling anything at all—then sit back and relax as they whip up a custom-made Me Soprendes (which translates to “surprise me”).

CargoFish

There’s so much to love about CargoFish in City Golf Plaza—the artsy ambiance with murals and bright lights, exceptional and attentive service, and of course, as its name hints at, the best and most authentic fish and chips in the metro. British chef Matthew Hornsby-Bates brings the UK neighborhood pub feel to this street food style spot. Do as the Brits do and treat yourself to their Build Your Own Fish & Chips as you chug on ice-cold beers for a bloody brilliant time.

St. Patrick’s

Irish-themed pubs are pretty much everywhere the nightlife scene is at, and we have the Irish people’s culture of drinking to thank. Dubbed as Kapitolyo’s friendly neighborhood pub, St. Patrick’s is an unassuming, no-frills spot where locals get together for reasonably priced draft beer and Irish-American pub grub. Their winning combo of Caramel Beer and Spam Chips will give you reasons to celebrate like any day is St. Patrick’s Day!

Cheech and Chang

While their name is a play on comedy duo Cheech & Chong, Cheech and Chang in Kapitolyo is no laughing matter! The brainchild of a group of friends, this Hong Kong roasts and gin bar might just be the next best thing, and their soft and fluffy baos can prove it. Filled with your choice of pork, fried chicken, or duck, this saucy yet not-at-all-messy snack is best eaten with their homemade chili garlic sauce. Fancy it up with a Martini, and you’re in for an award-winning combo!
